Semi-Homemade Spaghetti Sauce
Here is to another Manic Monday!
I am all about quick and easy on the weekdays, as we have a hectic life of football, gymnastics, ect. One of my all time go to recipes is a simple spaghetti - semi homemade. I am one of those people that doesn't eat a whole lot of leftovers, but spaghetti is one of those dishes I could literally eat everyday. I mean I told you we LOVE pasta.
I get asked often what is in the sauce, and it is so easy that I feel a little embarrassed to tell them. This is a super easy recipe, and often I will double or triple the recipe and freeze it, because then that is even one less thing I have to prep when we are running around like crazy. One day I will attempt to make homemade pasta, but for now here is an easy hack at getting a great flavorful spaghetti sauce.

This is a super easy recipe, and often I will double or triple the recipe and freeze it, because then that is even one less thing I have to prep when we are running around like crazy. One day I will attempt to make homemade pasta, but for now here is an easy hack at getting a great flavorful spaghetti sauce.
Ingredients:
- 1 jar of "traditional" spaghetti sauce
- don't use one that already has been spiced up as the rest of the ingredients would over power the sauce
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 sleeve spaghetti pasta
- 2 tablespoons onion flakes
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon garlic salt
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon oregeno
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Salt and Pepper to taske
Directions:
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until there is no pink left.
- Drain the grease out of the pan.
- While still over medium heat, combine the onion flakes to the ground beef, and stir until the flakes have turned slightly brown.
- Add the full jar of spaghetti sauce and mix thoroughly.
- With the now empty spaghetti jar, fill half way with water, put the lid on and shake. Add water slowly to the skillet, mixing gently while pouring.
- Now add the remainder of the ingredients - minced garlic, garlic salt, garlic powder, oregano, sugar, and mix well.
- Add salt and pepper to taste - and bring to a boil.
- Once the sauce has begun to boil, reduce heat to a simmer, and cover
- Allow to simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Meanwhile, prepare spaghetti noodles as directed on the package
