Melting Pot Remake - At Home Fondue
Happy New Years Day Everyone!
I am sitting writing this while watching my Sooner's face the Georgia Bulldogs in the Playoffs in the Rose Bowl Match up.
Nathan (my husband) and I celebrated halftime with the Sooner's leading the Bulldog's with a at home remake of the "Melting Pot's" fondue. A tradition we have celebrated year over year on New Year's Day. While my daughter is cheering on the Sooner's at the Rose Bowl with my parents we are vicariously living the game and traditions through her as she experiences her first ever college football game in one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world.
Fondue is super easy, and we LOVE cheese! So for tonight's cheese fondue we concurred it by mixing together several great but traditional cheeses. Below are the ingredients and sides used for tonight's dinner extravaganza.

Fondue is super easy, and we LOVE cheese! So for tonight's cheese fondue we concurred it by mixing together several great but traditional cheeses. Below are the ingredients and sides used for tonight's dinner extravaganza.
- 3- bricks of Yellow Cheddar Cheese - shredded
- 3- bricks of White Horseradish Cheddar Cheese - shredded
- 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons of diced chives
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 beer - Amber works the best (but we drank all ours) so Coors Light it is
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Dippers:
- Apple chunks
- Broccoli
- Carrots
- Mixed Bread slices
Directions:
- Heat your fondue pot to at least 300 degrees prior to starting your melting process
- Add in the minced garlic and add about a cup of beer to the pot
- Mix and let simmer down - letting the foam settle
- Add two handfuls worth of both cheeses and whisk until melted mixing with a fork
- Add another cup of beer and add another two handfuls of the yellow cheddar (no need to add anymore white cheddar as it has horseradish in it).
- Whisk until melted - add in the salt and pepper to taste as well as the diced chives and Worcestershire.
- Repeat process to get to the desired amount of cheese for consumtion
- Use fondue skewers to dip flavors like Broccoli, Carrots, Bread and Apple Slice
