Sweet Spicy Sausages in the Slow Cooker

I have a confession to make - I have a love affair with appetizers, tapas, and finger foods.  Why?  Because one, they are so easy to make. Two they are so easy to take anywhere. And three, I get little flavors of everything all on one plate.

With football season quickly approaching - tailgating, watch parties, and other holiday festivities are upon us all.  This is a surefire WIN and everyone will be talking about these sausages.  Plus it is a slow cooker recipe - so leave it and forget it (well not really)!

I use to use this recipe on little smokies and meatballs, and although this is great for them, the sausages knocked it out of the park.  I made some last weekend, and had my husband bring them up to the field house to share with the other coaches. My phone was blowing up with the coaches wives asking for the recipe!  I kid you not, this is super easy!  Next time, the hubs wants me to take it up a notch and add a little kick of spice to it.

Ingredients:
32 oz sausage - fully cooked
1/2 tbsp Garlic
12 oz Chili Sauce
12 oz Grape Jelly
2/3 tbsp Cayenne
1 tsp Olive Oil

Directions:
  1. In a medium saucepan, saute the garlic and the olive oil until the garlic starts browning
  2. Add in the grape jelly, cayenne pepper and chili sauce over medium heat until well combined about 10 minutes.
  3. While the sauce is on the stove, cut up the sausage into 1/2 or 1 inch pieces (whatever you prefer).
  4. Put the sausage into your favorite slow cooker.
  5. Pour the combined sauce over top of the sausages and cook for 1 1/2 - 2 hours on high, stirring occasionally.
  6. Reduce head to warm, and now you will be the star of your next party.
